We are one of eighteen branches of the California Writers Club, currently its second largest branch and located in Sonoma County.
CWC is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to educating both members and the public in the craft of writing and in the marketing of their work, through public meetings, workshops and conferences. The California Writers Club is a professional writers club open to writers of all genres and over one hundred years old, founded in 1909.
Redwood Branch of the California Writers Club sponsors a wide variety of events and activities throughout the year to accomplish the CWC mission: “Educating writers of all levels of expertise in the craft of writing and in the marketing of their work.”
Most of our activities are held in or around Santa Rosa, CA, in beautiful Sonoma County wine country.
Our mailing address: Redwood Writers, P.O. Box 4687, Santa Rosa, CA 95402.

At the core of our branch program is the membership meeting, usually held on the second Sunday of each month, that brings our members together to network, hear branch announcements, enjoy members’ readings and a featured guest speaker.
Monthly meetings are held from 2:30-5 PM at the Flamingo Conference Resort & Spa, Courtyard Room #1 • 2777 Fourth Street, Santa Rosa, CA 95405 • Phone: (707) 545-8530
Other events, such as the Salon and Readings, provide a more informal opportunity to meet other members and hear their literary works. Workshops on different genres, the craft of writing and publishing trends further enhance our skills as authors.
Signature events for Redwood Branch in the fall are our participation in the Sonoma County Book Festival in September and our annual Vintage Voices anthology party. Topping off a full year is the Redwood Conference in October.
Our branch motto is “writers helping writers.”
