In conjunction with the Next Step 2012 Conference
Redwood Writers Announces a Poetry Contest
Submission Rules and Guidelines:
- Contest starts January 2, 2012
- Theme: “Poetic Journeys”
- Poets must live in Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Lake, Solano or Mendocino Counties.
- Maximum length: no more than 32 lines each, single-spaced.
- 12-point size, Times New Roman font style.
- Poem(s) must not have been previously published.
- Author’s name must not appear on poem submission pages, only the title with each poem.
- Deadline: Must be postmarked by March 5, 2012.
- Prizes: Top three winners will be dinner guests and featured readers at the April 27, 2012 Poetry Night.
Plus: 1st prize =$100; 2nd prize = $50; 3rd prize = $25. - Contest judges: Phyllis Meshulam, Ed Colleti and Nancy Long
Entry fee: $8.00 for up to 3 poems for Redwood Writers or CWC members.
For non-members or students the fee is $10 for up to 3 poems.
Please make check or money order payable to Redwood Writers or pay below.
Contest starts January 2 and ends on March 5, 2012
