Becoming a Member

Membership Qualifications

The California Writers Club offers two levels of membership: Active (for writers who are already published) and Associate (for writers not yet published but actively working toward first publication).

All writers are welcome to join in the classification appropriate to their current level of writing achievement. As achievements increase, members can later advance from Supporting, to Associate, to Active membership.

California residence is not required for membership and CWC is open to writers of all genres.

Costs and Fees

The membership year is July 1 to June 30. NEW Active, Associate, and Supporting members pay a one-time initiation fee of $20.00 in addition to current dues = $65.

RENEWAL fees for all adult members is $45 and due on June 30 of each year.
Renew through the Pay Pal button on Renewal Page or send a check in the mail to Membership Chair or bring a check to a Redwood meeting or event.

For Student Members (ages 8 to 22 or older if a full time student) the Annual Fee is $15.
