RULES
Please observe the following contest rules; otherwise, your entry may be disqualified.
WHAT TO SUBMIT:
- Poets must be members in good standing of Redwood Writers.
- Each poet may submit up to 5 poems (maximum 100 lines per poem).
- BLIND SUBMISSIONS: Your name must NOT appear anywhere on the manuscript; only the title(s) of poem(s).
- Only previously unpublished poems will be accepted. Poems that have appeared in print, including online magazines, are not eligible. However, they may have appeared in personal blogs or online newsletters.
- All poems must be submitted by Friday, November 15, 2019, for consideration.
- Poems must be original.

FORMAT REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-inch margins
- 12-point Times New Roman font
- Poems may be single-spaced
- One space after punctuation
- Page number at bottom center
- Spelling errors could cause a submission to be rejected prior to the editing process.
PLEASE INCLUDE:
- At the time of submission, include a 50-word professional biography written in 3rd person
HOW TO SUBMIT:
- Document format: Your piece(s) should be formatted as a Microsoft Word document (doc or pdf, NOT a docx).
- Multiple poems may be submitted in a single document.
- ONLINE SUBMISSIONS ONLY: All entries must be submitted online using the submission form linked below.
WORKING WITH EDITORS:
For the benefit of our readers and for our growth as writers, we want to help each other hone these works to make them the best possible. As such, each member whose work is accepted will be expected to work with an editor in order to make recommended revisions.

Fran Claggett-Holland is the author of four collections of poems. After a career of teaching, in which she was highly awarded for books on critical thinking, literature, and writing, she has enjoyed teaching memoir and poetry for OLLI. Fran served as editor of three prior RW Poetry Anthologies. She lives in Sebastopol with her beautiful Whippet and Saluki.
Les Bernstein has been published in journals, presses and anthologies in the U.S and internationally. Her chapbooks Borderland, Naked Little Creatures, and Amid the Din have been published by Finishing Line Press. She has won the 2014 Nazim Hikmet award and is a 2015 Pushcart Prize nominee. Les lives in Mill Valley with her very large family.

Cover Art Contest
The 2020 poetry anthology is looking for artists to submit work they would like considered for the covers of the anthology. The theme for the anthology will be determined by the selected cover art, so let your creative juices flow
DEADLINE FOR ARTWORK ONLY SUBMISSION IS SEPTEMBER 15, 2019

Here are the details:
- art submissions should be formatted as a jpg, a minimum of 300 dpi
- winning artwork will be reduced to fit
- artwork will be selected for both front and back covers
- RW members may submit up to two images
- winning artists will receive $50 and a free book
- Editors will make "blind" final selections
