Does your book qualify?

  • Membership Status: You must be a current Redwood Writers member in good standing by June 1, 2019.
  • Publishing Dates: Your book—in print and/or
    e-book format—must be published between June 1, 2018, and May 31, 2019.
  • Quality: Your book must be professionally edited.

Application Requirements:

Authors who wish to participate MUST UPLOAD their information USING THE ONLINE FORM linked at the bottom of this page.
No later than May 31, 2019, by 9 p.m., please provide the following:

  • Headshot: A 300 dpi (high-resolution JPG format) photograph of yourself.
  • Book Cover Image: An image (JPG format) of your book's front cover only.
  • Author Bio: Limit your author biography to a maximum 50 words. Prior to submission, please edit bio for errors.
  • Book Blurb: A short, well-edited book blurb limited to 50 words.

Before You Apply:

Featured author spaces are limited and there is always a waiting list.
Therefore, participating authors will be ineligible for future book launches if they:

1) do not show up to the Author Launch event on July 14, 2019, and/or

2) back out after JUNE 1.

Event Day Details:

  • AUTHOR ARRIVAL TIME: Arrive Early! All featured authors should arrive at 1:15 p.m. to set up your books for sale on the provided tables.
  • GUEST ARRIVAL TIME: Please ask your guests to arrive by 1:45 p.m. The event begins promptly at 2 p.m. Remember, admission is FREE for everyone on the event day, so invite a lot of friends!

Book Sales:

  • A Dozen Books: You must bring at least 12 copies of your book to sell (or ebook available for download).
  • GENERAL MEMBERSHIP NOTE: Only featured Author Launch writers will be able to sell their books on the day of the event.
  • $$$: Authors are responsible for bringing $ change $ to offer your book customers. Authors are allowed to sell books using their own credit card merchant accounts.

Author Readings:

  • Each author will have a maximum of five minutes to read a selection from their book. Your reading opportunity begins as soon as you reach the podium. Prior to the Author Launch, please be sure to practice your selection and time your reading in advance to prevent being cut off by the moderator prior to finishing your selection. We want everyone to have an opportunity to use their time allotment, so please be respectful of the many featured authors and limit your reading to a maximum of five minutes.
  • ONE BOOK: Please only read or talk about one book. Do not talk about previous books. Do not talk about your bio.
