Haiku poetry has become very popular in countries where English is the first or second language. Yet myths and misunderstandings about haiku form and style persist. This presentation will provide an overview of contemporary English-language haiku, with examples spanning the traditional to the experimental. A brief exercise will give attendees the opportunity to create a haiku of their own.
