The Contest Coordinator oversees Redwood Writers’ many writing contests, including poetry, short story, and memoir competitions. This role involves forming and leading a committee, planning contest timelines, securing judges, and ensuring smooth communication with members through announcements, reminders, and results. The Contest Coordinator also manages contest publicity across newsletters, the website, and social media, and coordinates with the Treasurer to award prizes. By organizing contests, this role provides members with opportunities to share their work, receive recognition, and strengthen their writing—while also raising the club’s profile in the larger community.
